- Baseless design with a detachable, locking foot — stable in use, yet quick to break down for transport and storage.
- High-visibility blue — research into canine colour vision shows dogs are dichromats who see blue clearly while reds and greens appear muted and grey, so a blue hoop stands out and is easier for them to sight and line up (Neitz, Geist & Jacobs, 1989).

Hooplan
Plan Your Courses with Hooplan
Hooplan is our free-to-try web app for designing Hoopers courses. Lay out hoops, barrels and gates in your browser and watch the dog’s running line redraw live — with the rulebook checking your course as you go.
Design, check, and share
Built for judges and trainers: Hooplan draws the dog’s line as a flowing spline, checks your layout against the BK9 rulebook, and suggests where the judge can stand to see it all.
- Obstacles and running line — place hoops, barrels, tunnels and gates, and the dog’s path draws itself, updating live as you move things around.
- Draw mode — sketch the line you’d like the dog to run and Hooplan places evenly spaced, rule-legal hoops along it for you.
- Rules — your layout is checked against the rulebook as you go, so distance, spacing and level problems are caught before anyone walks the course.
- Judging — get suggested judging positions that keep the whole course in view, plus a clean printed sheet to judge from.
- Importing — bring in courses from other course designers instead of redrawing them.
